We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases and offer a wide variety of medical services.
Our Practice has an extensive Health Care Preventative Medical Service, run by the Practice Nurses and the Doctors.
Pre-pregnancy advice – see Practice Nurse or GP.
Antenatal Clinic and Postnatal Care – by appointment with GP and Health Visitor.
Child Immunisation Clinic – Thursday afternoon by appointment. See Health Visitor for advice.
Child Development – Wednesday afternoon by appointment – arranged by Health Visitor.
Family Planning – by appointment with Practice Nurse or GP. Emergency family planning will always be available by contacting your local pharmacy or Practice Nurse.
Cervical Smears – by appointment with Practice Nurse.
Special Care Schemes – (e.g. asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes) organised by Practice Nurse.
Joint Injections – please discuss with Dr Crawford.
Routine Travel & Vaccinations – see Practice Nurse
Healthy Living – advice on smoking, alcohol, fitness, diet, prevention of heart disease, cholesterol testing see Practice Nurse
Medical Examinations (not covered by NHS) – arrange with receptionist who can tell you the fee involved
Treatment Room Services e.g. Ear syringing, ECG’s/Treatment of minor injuries – referral arranged by doctor.
X-ray Department – Referral arranged by doctor. For injuries where a fracture is suspected, patients are advised to attend either the Minor Injuries Unit at Yorkhill, or the Accident & Emergency Department at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Children under 1 should attend the Royal Hospital for Children.
Physiotherapy – Physiotherapy is available within the Health Centre (see Patient Information). Patients can self refer by completing a self referral form and handing it in to the Physiotherapy Department.
